Fiber Optic Components That Keep a Telecom Network Compatible at Every Connection
Many of the problems a telecom buyer needs to prevent start at a connection point. A patch cord arrives with the wrong polish, the frame is built on FC or E2000 while the new equipment ships with LC, or a receiver is overdriven because nobody ordered the attenuator. Our telecom network fiber optic solution is built around those points, with connectors, adapters, pigtails, patch cords, fixed attenuators and PLC splitters for ODF systems, equipment patching, fiber distribution and outdoor radio links.
Whether you buy for a telecom operator, a network contractor, a system integrator or a distribution business, the sections below take you from a network position to a specific Evolux product, let you check its published figures, and show what to send for a quotation. For PON access distribution, see the FTTH ODN Solution. For MPO/MTP trunks and high-density LC cabling, see the Data Center Fiber Cabling Solution.
- ODF and cross-connect

How to Choose Fiber Optic Components for a Telecom Network Project
Start from the connection point rather than a generic cable list. Work out what each end mates with, then fix the polish, the fiber grade and the physical build for that position.
| Your situation | What usually fits | Confirm before the RFQ | Where to look |
|---|---|---|---|
| ODF Fiber Termination | A pigtail bundle fusion-spliced to the incoming trunk or feeder cable | Connector and polish, fiber grade, fibers per bundle, buffer diameter, pigtail length | SC/UPC 12-core pigtail, or other SC, LC, FC, ST and E2000 pigtails |
| ODF to Equipment Cross-Connect | A single-mode simplex or duplex patch cord matched to both ports | Connector at each end, UPC or APC, length, jacket material, insertion-loss grade | FC/UPC simplex patch cable or LC to LC duplex patch cord |
| Mixed Connector Families | A hybrid patch cord, or a male-to-female hybrid adapter at the panel, when the equipment and the frame use different interfaces | Both interfaces, polish on each side, panel-mount or free-hanging use | LC to E2000 patch cable or LC male to FC female adapter |
| Power Control on DWDM, CATV or PON | A fixed attenuator at the bulkhead or the equipment port, where channel power has to be reduced or equalized | Attenuation value, wavelength window, maximum input power, connector and polish | FC/UPC female attenuator or LC/APC attenuator |
| Acceptance Testing and Fault Location | A reusable bare fiber adapter on the OTDR or power meter, and an FBG reflector at the ONU end for checks from the central office | Instrument port type, fiber coating diameter, OTDR test wavelength band | Bare fiber adapter and FBG reflector |
| FTTA and Unsheltered Links | A sealed, armored outdoor patch cord built to the radio-port interface | Outdoor connector type, IP rating, fiber count, length, jacket, burial, duct or aerial installation | Outdoor waterproof patch cord or ODC patch cable |
| PON Access Distribution | PLC splitters and terminal boxes sized to the split plan beyond the central office | Split ratio, splitter package, connector type, box capacity, indoor or outdoor mounting | PLC splitters, terminal boxes and the FTTH ODN Solution |
The connector you order should always follow the equipment port, the frame and the project specification. Send the port schedule with your RFQ and we will check compatibility before anything goes into production.
Why Telecom Contractors and Distributors Buy Fiber Optic Components From Evolux
A telecom fiber optic supplier is only useful when what arrives on site matches the drawing. Here is how we work to make that happen, and what it saves your team.

One Supplier Across Six Passive Product Families
Connectors, adapters, pigtails, patch cords, PLC splitters and terminal boxes can sit on a single BOM. That means fewer vendors to qualify and one specification review instead of several.
Your Specification Is Confirmed Before Production
We confirm the specification first, verify a sample where needed, and test the finished product against the agreed requirements. Labeling and packaging are kept consistent for repeat orders.
Published Loss Figures You Can Put in a Budget
Insertion loss and return loss are stated product by product. Where an assembly comes in more than one grade, such as IEC Grade B or Grade C for the LC duplex patch cord, you choose the grade and it goes on the order line.
Legacy and Outdoor Interfaces on the Same Order
FC and E2000 for existing frames, LC for new equipment, hybrid adapters between them, and PDLC or ODC connectors for radio sites. You do not need a second source for the less common parts.
OEM Labels and Packaging for Your Brand
As an OEM supplier of fiber optic patch cords and pigtails, Evolux lets distributors and project buyers specify jacket and boot colors, product labels, cable markers and neutral or customer-specific packaging.
Sample, Small Batch or Bulk
Order samples for compatibility testing, a small customized batch for a pilot site, or bulk production for a network rollout or wholesale stock. The approved sample becomes the reference for the order.
Engineering Checks Before You Approve a Telecom Fiber BOM
These points are worth settling on the approved BOM or drawing before any samples are made.
Check 01
Interface and Polish at Every Mated Pair
List the connector family and polish on both sides of each adapter. Published return loss differs by polish, for example ≥50 dB for the FC/UPC patch cable and ≥65 dB for the LC/APC attenuator, and UPC and APC end faces should never be mated to each other. Our guide to PC, UPC and APC polish explains why.
Check 02
Fiber Grade Rather Than Just Single-Mode
Write the grade and the core and cladding size on the BOM. The E2000 pigtail is specified as G652D / OS2 9/125 and the outdoor assemblies as G.657A, so each line can be checked against your requirement.
Check 03
Connection Loss Budget
Add the published insertion loss of every connectorized part in the path, then fiber attenuation and margin. If a tighter budget calls for the ≤0.15 dB grade instead of ≤0.30 dB on LC duplex patch cords, say so in the RFQ.
Check 04
Attenuation Value and Input Power
Fixed attenuators are ordered by dB value. Check the tolerance and the power rating against the position. The FC/UPC female model is rated to 300 mW, and the LC/APC model is listed from 125 mW to 300 mW depending on the version.
Check 05
Environment and Jacket
For indoor frames, name PVC, LSZH or OFNP as the project requires. For outdoor links, name the ingress rating and temperature range. The outdoor waterproof patch cord is published as IP67 or IP68 from −40 °C to +70 °C.
Check 06
Test Records With the Shipment
Depending on the product, testing may cover insertion loss, return loss and end-face inspection. Define the wavelength, limits and sampling basis in the order so the report matches your acceptance procedure.
Custom and OEM Telecom Fiber Optic Assemblies From Sample to Bulk Order
Evolux builds custom fiber optic patch cords, pigtails and attenuators for telecom projects on top of its catalog configurations, from a single sample to a bulk order.
What to Include in Your RFQ
Treat the catalog version as the starting point and list each change you need. A complete request shortens clarification and makes sample testing meaningful.

Standards and Test Records Behind These Telecom Fiber Components
Quality evidence is most useful when it is tied to the exact product and batch. The statements below appear on the named product pages, and you can ask Evolux for the supporting document that covers the model you are quoted.
Telcordia GR-910-CORE and GR-1221-CORE
Both are listed as compliance for the FC/UPC female fixed attenuator, and GR-910-CORE is also listed for the LC/APC attenuator. Ask for the test report that covers the dB values you are ordering.
RoHS Material Compliance
Stated for both fixed attenuators and for the FC/UPC bare fiber adapter. For procurement records, request a current declaration that names the quoted product.
IEC Insertion-Loss Grades
The LC to LC single-mode duplex patch cord is published at ≤0.30 dB for IEC Grade C and ≤0.15 dB for IEC Grade B. The grade is a purchasing choice and belongs on the order line.
IP67 and IP68 Ingress Ratings
Published for the outdoor waterproof patch cord and for the ODC patch cable, which is listed as IP68. Confirm which rating applies to the connector type and cable you select.
Inspection at Four Stages
Production passes through incoming quality control, in-process control, optical and mechanical testing, and final inspection before shipment. Test items are set by product model and the agreed specification.
Documents Your Tender Requires
Certificate numbers and operator approvals are not published on these product pages. List every document your tender calls for in the RFQ so each can be confirmed in writing before approval.
Telecom Network Fiber Optic Solution FAQ for Buyers and Engineers
Is Evolux a manufacturer or a trading supplier of telecom fiber optic components?
Shenzhen Evolux Fiber Co., Ltd. is a fiber optic components manufacturer founded in 2013. The head office is in Shenzhen and the company lists a factory address in Baise, Guangxi. Telecom buyers can order catalog products, request samples, or send a project BOM for a custom or OEM quotation.
Which fiber optic products does a telecom network project usually need?
It depends on the network position. ODF termination uses pigtails and adapters, cross-connects and equipment links use single-mode patch cords, and mixed connector environments add hybrid patch cords or hybrid adapters. Amplified, CATV and PON links may need fixed attenuators, and radio sites need sealed outdoor patch cords. All of these can be supplied individually or combined into one project BOM.
Should we specify FC, SC, LC or E2000 connectors?
Specify the connector already fitted to the equipment port and the distribution frame, because the installed hardware fixes the interface. FC uses a threaded coupling, while SC and LC use push-pull latching. Where two families meet, use a hybrid patch cord or a male-to-female hybrid adapter. Our FC connector selection guide covers the FC case in more detail.
When does a telecom link need APC polish instead of UPC?
Follow the polish of the ports you are mating with and never mix the two on one connection. On our product pages, UPC assemblies are published at return loss ≥50 dB and the LC/APC attenuator at ≥65 dB, which is why APC is offered for reflection-sensitive PON and CATV links. If your port schedule shows both, list the polish per position on the BOM.
How do we choose a fixed optical attenuator value?
Work out the level reduction needed at the receiver, then order the nearest fixed value. The FC/UPC female attenuator is available from 1 dB to 30 dB, with ±0.5 dB accuracy from 1 to 9 dB and ±10% from 10 to 30 dB. The LC/APC attenuator lists standard values of 2, 4, 5, 6, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 dB. Include the wavelength window and the maximum optical power at that port in your RFQ.
What are the MOQ, sample policy and lead time for bulk telecom fiber optic orders?
There is no single MOQ or lead time for every product, because configuration and quantity affect the order. As a reference, the E2000 pigtail page lists a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces. Sample orders, small-batch customization and bulk production are all supported. Send the quantity per configuration and your required delivery date, and you will receive terms for your BOM.
Can Evolux supply OEM or private-label fiber optic products with test reports?
Yes. OEM and ODM supply covers connector types, cable lengths, jacket and boot colors, product labels, cable markers and neutral or customer-specific packaging. Datasheets and IL/RL test reports are listed among the project support items. Tell us the label text, the report format and whether results are needed per unit or per batch.
