What is G.652 Standard single mode fiber?
G. 652 fiber is the first generation single-mode fiber, characterized by low fiber dispersion when the operating wavelength is at 1300NM, and the transmission distance of the system is only limited by fiber attenuation. But this type of fiber has a relatively high loss in the 1300NM band, ranging from 0.3 to 0.4dB/km; The loss in the 1550NM band is relatively small, ranging from 0.2~0.25dB/KM. The dispersion in the 1300nm band is 3.5ps/(nm/km), and it is larger in the 1550nm band, about 20ps/(nm/km). This type of fiber can be used for 2.5Gbit/s trunk systems in the 1550nm band, but due to the large dispersion in this band, if a 10Gbit/s signal is transmitted over a distance of more than 50KM, an expensive dispersion compensation module is required. In addition, its use also increases line loss and shortens relay distance, so it is not suitable for DWDM systems.

Applications
FTTH Indoor Terminal Connections
Suitable for connecting optical network terminals (ONT) to wall outlets, distribution boxes, and indoor fiber rosettes in FTTH deployments.
Telecom Room Patching
The 2-meter length provides practical reach for equipment connections within telecom rooms, linking patch panels, splitters, and optical line terminals.
Commonly used in optical distribution frames for organized patching between distribution modules and transmission equipment.
Metro and Access Network Nodes
Applicable to metro optical network access points where singlemode simplex SC/APC connections are required.
FAQ
Q: What is the difference between APC and UPC polish types?
A: APC (Angled Physical Contact) connectors have an angled end face that reduces back reflection. UPC (Ultra Physical Contact) connectors have a flat polished end face. APC is preferred for reflection-sensitive applications.
Q: What jacket materials are available?
A: Three jacket options are available: PVC, LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen), and OFNP (Optical Fiber Nonconductive Plenum).
Q: What cable diameters can I choose?
A: This product is available in 3.0mm, 2.0mm, and 0.9mm outer diameters.
Q: Can I order different connector types on each end?
A: Yes. Connector options include LC, SC, ST, FC, and MU. Contact us for hybrid configurations.
Q: Is custom length available?
A: Yes. Custom lengths can be manufactured based on project requirements.
