What are the commonly used types of fiber optic jumpers?

Fiber optic jumper, also known as fiber optic connector, refers to the installation of connector plugs on both ends of an optical cable to achieve active connection of the optical path. If a plug is installed on one end, it is called a tail fiber. In order to help everyone understand and understand fiber optic jumpers, let's talk about the types of commonly used fiber optic jumpers.

1. LC fiber optic jumper: The connector is similar to SC but smaller than SC. Adopting a modular socket latch with convenient operation, the size of the pin and sleeve is 1.25mm, which is half the size used for ordinary SC and FC. Connecting SFP Optical module, often used as routers, can improve the density of optical fiber connectors in the fiber distribution frame to a certain extent.

2. SC fiber optic jumper: The structure and size of its pin and coupling sleeve are identical to those of the FC type. The standard square connector is used as the connector of the GBIC Optical module, and it is the fastening method of the plug and pull pin latch lock. It does not need to rotate. It is often used on routers. It has the characteristics of low price and low fluctuation of access loss. Commonly used for 100G BASE-FX connections.

3. FC fiber optic jumper: Originally developed by NTT, FC is the abbreviation for Ferrule Connector in English. The external protective sleeve is a metal sleeve, and the fastening method is a screw buckle. It is generally used on the ODF side, and is most commonly used on distribution frames. It has advantages such as strong fastening and dust resistance.

4. ST fiber optic jumper: The outer shell is circular, and the fastening method is a screw buckle. The fiber core is exposed, and after the plug is inserted, it rotates half a circle and is fixed with a bayonet. Often used as a connector for 10BASE-F, it is often used in fiber optic distribution frames.

5. MPO: The fiber optic jumper connector is one of the MT series connectors. The two guide holes with a diameter of 0.7mm on the left and right sides of the plug end face are accurately connected to the guide pin (also known as PIN pin). After processing MPO connectors and fiber optic cables, various forms of MPO jumpers can be produced.
