what is LC LC patch cable?

LC-LC fiber optic patch cord is a small compact patch cable very popularly used in many applications. These network solutions include telecommunication networks, LANs, data processing networks, device terminations and premises distributions. LC-LC patch cords are designed to deliver fast Ethernet solutions in Gigabit applications and ATM applications with less space consumption.

FAQ

 

Q: Why choose simplex over duplex LC cables?

A: Simplex gives you routing flexibility that duplex can't match. You can run TX and RX fibers through different pathways, replace individual fibers without disturbing pairs, and achieve higher effective port density in congested panels. For SFP-based equipment where TX and RX are separate ports anyway, simplex is often the more practical choice.

Q: What's the difference between LC UPC simplex and LC APC simplex?

A: Two things: polish angle and return loss.
LC UPC has a flat/curved end face and ≥50dB return loss. The connector housing is blue. Use it for digital signals - Ethernet, Fibre Channel, general data.
LC APC has an 8° angled end face and ≥60dB return loss. The connector housing is green. Use it for analog signals - CATV, RF over fiber, PON video overlay.
Never connect UPC to APC - the angle mismatch causes high loss and damages both connectors.

Q: Can I order LC UPC simplex with different boot angles?

A: Yes. We offer:
-Straight boot (standard) - general use
-45° angled boot - reduces cable stress in tight vertical runs
-90° angled boot - horizontal exit from patch panels
-Short boot - maximum density in high-port-count panels
Minimum order for non-standard boots: 50 pcs

Q: Do you provide individual test reports for simplex cables?

A: Yes. Two options:
Batch report (free): Sample testing from your production lot, covers IL/RL/visual inspection.
Individual report (available on request): Each cable gets its own certificate with serial number, actual measured IL and RL, and pass/fail status. Recommended for test labs and quality-critical installations.

Q: What's the minimum bend radius for 2.0mm simplex cable?

A: 15mm under no tension, 30mm when under pulling load. For tighter installations, we offer bend-insensitive fiber (BIF) with 7.5mm minimum bend radius - no performance penalty even in aggressive cable management.
